BSc in Biochemical Engineering - Institute of Food Science and Technology
BSc in Biochemical Engineering
BSc in Biochemical Engineering
Last modified: 10. November 2025
The program is designed to train biochemical engineers with high competences in all fields of biotechnology, bioprocess engineering and biomaterials by integrating theoretical knowledges from chemical, biochemical, engineering and economic sciences and developing practical skills such as laboratory, manufacturing practices, data analysis, and the design and operation of biological systems and technologies. Students also will get acquainted with the equipment and apparatuses used in the biotechnological industry and understand their optimal operation. The biochemical engineers can manage biotechnological systems and their team, can perform analytical tests, intermediate and final quality control, and can take part in R&D&I and in planning as well, even in production, service, trade or state administration. The program also provides sufficient theoretical background for students to continue their studies at Master of Science level.
